Our services
The Composites Development Center of Quebec (CDCQ) offers manufacturing companies a wide range of services tailored to their needs in the composite materials sector; research into materials, processes, equipment, prototyping, molding and testing, tests, qualification and characterization of materials or products.
The CDCQ serves companies in varied sectors such as land transport, aeronautics, recreational products, chemical industry, construction, maritime industry, civil engineering and energy.
As a Collegial Center for Technology Transfer (CCTT) and Technology Access Center (TAC), we assist our clients in in practical product and technology development projects. These customers benefit from our network of partners and technology monitoring activities.
Most of our services are eligible for the tax credit for technology adaptation.
Research of processes, material or equipment
According to customer requirements and specifications, the CDCQ will select materials, develop recipes, select the appropriate process as well as peripheral equipment. Cost comparisons between processes can be made to make an informed choice.
Prototyping
For a short series or for a prototype, the CDCQ can provide its expertise as well as its premises and equipment. Thus, a company can, at a reasonable cost, have a prototype built to validate a concept.
Development and start-up of processes
For most of the manufacturing processes, the parameters must be optimized. The CDCQ, through the experience of its staff, supports businesses in this area.
Molding tests
Material molding tests, process changes: our molds and tools are at your disposal. For instance, transforming an open-mold production to a closed-mold production requires preliminary evaluations for which the CDCQ has a recognized expertise.
Characterization of materials or products
The CDCQ has a laboratory and state-of-the-art equipment to support companies with technical assistance services, the characterization of composite materials to find solutions that meet their needs.
Technical assistance/Technology transfer
Composite parts manufacturers call on the CDCQ to collaborate in finding and evaluating production solutions. CDCQ’s support is fast and efficient.
Staff training in CDCQ premises or in industry
The CDCQ offers a staff training service that is tailored to the needs of businesses. The duration is therefore determined according to the achievements of the participants and the skill to be acquired.
